Vocal selections may be sung in any key suitable for the voice.
Taped accompaniment is not allowed but any appropriate instrument may be used.
The selection and suitability of the music will be taken into consideration by the Adjudicator.
Contemporary music selections must be entered in the appropriate category.
EXAMINATION COURSES - Participants who are enrolled in a recognized examination
course such as The Royal Conservatory of Canada, Western Conservatory or Conservatory
Canada should enter one of the Festival Classes identified by the term “Grade”.
Classes “6 years and under” and “7 and 8 years” are non-competitive. Participants will receive
full adjudications and written comments but no mark will be assigned. Participants will still be
eligible for awards.
VOCAL ROSE BOWL - awarded to the most outstanding individual performer in vocal
competition who has competed in the following compulsory classes at his or her current level of
study:
(a) Test Piece in English
(b) Sight Reading/Skills Test
(c) Quick Study
(d) One selection from Classes V100 through V135 in a language other than English
(e) One selection from Classes V100 through V135 in English....
